The inspiration for this furniture set comes from nature - biomimetics. This task was assigned to me as a student and the focus was to create an interactive system. The following products are included in the set:
m
Project 1: a desk inspired by the form and movement of a snake; interactive feature - hidden compartment
Project 2: a table inspired by the ageing process of a mushroom; interactive feature - two height options
Project 3: office furniture inspired by symbiotic relationships in nature; interactive feature - modular elements on wheels

OFFICE DESK
inspiration: movement of snakes

*Nokia's Snake game version

For this project I was inspired by the form and movement of a snake which gives a continuous line of a desk with shelves. The size and the volume of the desk is appropriate for a home office. Besides the writing space, this desk has incorporated a handy side table designed for a printer. Additionally, under the shelf for the printer a mobile part is built made of soft material which can be used for storing paper during printing. When not printing, this part can be closed. This design is not limited to only one type of material; it can easily be made from wood, plastic, plexiglass, MDF etc.

SIDE TABLE
inspiration: ageing of mushrooms

For this project I was inspired by the ageing process of type of a mushroom called Boletus Badius, where the cap of the mushroom is turned downwards when it is young, and turns upwards as it grows old. Thus this table changes its height and has two functions: as a coffee table – young mushroom; as a dining table – grown mushroom.
The idea behind this project is to reuse plastic waste and make a filament for 3D printing. This makes the table easy and inexpensive to produce, light in weight and customizable.

OFFICE MODULAR FURNITURE
inspiration: symbiotic relationships

Inspired by the mutual symbiosis in nature and having the theme of writing desks in mind, I designed a series of modular office furniture. The elements are made from inexpensive materials and are designed to fit like a puzzle, using magnets as joints. Thus, a variety of furniture arrangements is offered for different types of offices. In accordance with the term symbiosis, these elements can function separately, but when joined they have a mutual function with a greater benefit. The series consists of three mobile elements:
